Melitopol recovery concept
The Melitopol recovery concept is a project where the Restart team contributed to the analytics for the city’s recovery ways after its deoccupation in future. The project is implemented at the request of the city administration in exile and is based on the developments of the previous Integrated development concept and analysis of the city’s external risks.

Melitopol

Type:
Analytical research
What was done?
Melitopol’s vulnerable natural areas
The research team analysed the city’s main strategic developments at the beginning of the full-scale war and the main events during the occupation. This information was complemented with analytics related to the city’s challenges apart from the war: climate change, sea level rise, vulnerable city areas — landslide zones and heat islands. A synthesis of these elements resulted in a shortlist of activities that the city can use for its recovery (without any reference to the type and character of destructions) and for the further development of the city and its neighbourhoods.
